Elementary Parent Education Night

  • La Printaniere Montessori School 5064 Perkins Road Baton Rouge, LA, 70808 United States (map)

La Printaniere is thrilled to be hosting Dr. Holly Groh for a talk with our Elementary parents focusing on the topic of screens in the home and how to build the best environment for elementary-aged children.  Join us for an informative and judgment-free discussion!

Dr. Holly Gore Groh is a former ophthalmologist / corneal surgeon and mom of four. She and her family were Baton Rouge transplants following Hurricane Katrina, and her children (now ages 14, 16, 20, and 21) attended La Printaniere from 2005-2010. During her time as a new parent in New Orleans, she had the opportunity to learn from a foremost Montessori expert about preparing a home environment that correlates and harmonizes with the educational philosophy. She has also spent the past 15 years researching the biological and social effects of screens – from TV to the age of smart phones – on children and families. As her children grew older, Holly became deeply interested in the benefits of a Montessori-style home, including limited access to screens, and has seen firsthand the rewards of implementing these ideas in her own life.
